Kachemak Board of Realtors held a Forum October 17th at the Bidarki Best Western. Rep Paul Seaton and Candidate Sarah Vance accepted the invitation to speak to the community. Both had a few moments to introduce themselves and their reasons for running for District 31 House of Representative.
Angie Newby and Chris Story were the moderators and each candidate had an opportunity
to answer the questions they posed.
These were some of the questions asked and answered by both candidates
1.Senior Citizens currently enjoy primary home property tax exemptions;
do you support the continuation of this exemption?
2.Jobs and a healthy job market create a sustainable housing market;
do you have any ideas to attract jobs to our local economy?
3.PFD checks have helped many families become home owners….used as down payments and closing costs.
If elected…what would you do to restore the PFD for Alaskan's?
Realtors strive to protect the individual rights of Property Owners.
We take great pride in our community.
This Forum was very important. The turnout was really good.
Several people asked questions of the candidates.
It was a really productive and informative meeting.
Chris ended the meeting with this statement. The Voters have a choice to make in November,
the Realtor community posed serious questions to the candidates regarding property issues and the economy.
Now you decide. If it happens to real estate it matters to you!
Thank you to all who attended and the candidates and moderators!
