According to RealtyTrac.com, a foreclosure listing service, one in every 11,358 housing units in Alaska had a new foreclosure listing in August, 2016 (the most recent data available). 

Matanuska-Susitna Borough had the highest number of August foreclosures (1 in every 4111 units)

Ketchikan Gateway Borough was second highest (1 in every 6178 units) 

Anchorage Borough was third (1 in every 8714 units) 

Fairbanks North Star Borough was fourth highest (1 in every 20,805 units) 

Kenai Peninsula Borough had the fifth highest number of new foreclosure listings in August

(1 in every 30,498 units)

I've seen a small uptick in our foreclosures lately. It's still a tiny part of our market, but maybe not as tiny as it seems to be in your market.

7% of our current active listings are foreclosures, so there are still quite a few. That's not a statistic we want to be high!

Good to hear Endre Barath, Jr.  We never experienced too much of it at all....small community never over built or flooded with homes.... also we had good lenders with Alaska Housing Finance Corp....kept things in check!
