Bay Realty Blog: Happy Valley Alaska…Where Even Construction Stops are Gorgeous!

Happy Valley Alaska…Where Even Construction Stops are Gorgeous!

Sometimes we are so wrapped up in what we are doing we don’t take the time to appreciate the finer things, the simple things that surround us.  I was driving to a listing the other day to find the monitor tubes for the septic tank so we could get an engineer there to test it….

I was running a little late… and thinking of all the things I needed to do…. when suddenly

I realized I was in a construction zone… on the Sterling Highway….in Happy Valley

And we were stopped. My first thought was this is not good…. second thought was well

I have my phone I can catch up on emails and calls…. My third  and best thought was

Roll the window down and take a picture of the Beauty that Surrounds you….

This is how we roll in Alaska….construction zone…stop and enjoy the scenery

Good morning, Debra -- WOW -- your photos are beautiful and the message is a good reminder to stop occassionally to enjoy the sights we might typically miss.

Beautiful photo and scenery.  We have nice mountains in Colorado, but no ocean, and few mosquitoes.

Hello Debra and I have heard that from other locals and a natural way of predicting weather change

Posted by Robert Vegas Bob Swetz, Las Vegas Henderson Homes for Sale (Realty ONE Group) over 2 years ago

They say that when the fireweed blossoms to the top it is 6 weeks till winter! that is why we have mixed feeling about fireweed in our world... beautiful but ...bittersweet!

Thata's quite the view, Debra. . .No question about it.  I haven't heard of Fireweed before.  It paints beautiful strokes on the landscape.

Wow Debra ... I sent you an invite to the group only minutes before I posted about the group, you were all over joining.

Great to have you aboard and I had to quickly change the name because there was another group with Alaska The Last Frontier in it.

I didn't wan to make anyone angry ;o) so I changed it.

Debra, you live in a jaw-dropping piece of the world. I am SO glad that you gave us a window of "opportunity" to view it through your eyes. My my. I loved Alaska when I (oh-so-briefly) travelled through it and my husband REALLY wants to go there. We will I think for sure. Maybe during one of the sabbaticals that he is accruing with his job that he never seems to take!

Robert (Alaska Bob) Swetz  the other last frontier group was Jesse Clifton...I dont think he ever comes this way anymore... he is traveling and spending a lot of time in his Air Stream! You can find him on facebook!

Posted by Debra Leisek ( Bay Realty,Inc Homer Alaska) over 2 years ago

Hello again Debra ... I have been reading and viewing Jesse Clifton's photos, etc on Facebook ever since he left Alaska and have know Jesse for years at AR, Jesse is a "Hoot"

And with all my traveling around the world at a very you age, I am searching for beautiful places for retirement and slow down.

Thanks for the info on Jesse's AK group and VB/AB is going to create such a huge BUZZ in Alaska that my blogging, photos and videos might outweigh all the television programs about The Last Frontier

Vegas Bob plugged and tore up Las Vegas with blogs, photos and videos, drawing tourists in and new residents for over 7 years.

Now it's time to plug Alaska, and I hope the locals won't be angry at ALASKA BOB for booting the population of AK

You should ask Jesse to take over the group... he had asked me long ago but i didnt know what or how to do anything... I think he would love it if you revived it Alaska Bob!
