Alaska Politics at its Finest!

Lisa has made the decision to run a write in campaign for the Senate Seat
No matter what your thoughts are or which candidate you are going to vote for
The next 42 days are going to prove to be interesting to say the least!
Lisa is vowing to take the gloves off, Joe is saying bring it on and Scott is hoping somehow this plays to his advantage...

Alaska has had its share of unconventional politicians...
Walter Hickel was elected as the first Republican governor of Alaska in 1966
He was the only other governor besides Sarah to quit before his term was up
He quit when Richard Nixon appointed him U.S. Secretary of the Interior.
In 1990 Wally Hickel abandoned the Republican party and ran on the Alaska Independent Party ticket...and won!
Walter Hickel Born in Kansas was known to be a colorful character full of life and stories and big ideas...
He came to Alaska in 1940 with 37 cents in his pocket.
He was one of the men who pioneered this great state and is admired by all.
"I want to be buried standing up so I can fight for what I believe in forever."
He died May 7,2010. He was 90 years young.
Lisa says she is not done fighting for Alaska.... The next 42 days will tell the story...
Who Knows in Alaska what the final tally will be...
But one thing we do know is.... it will be a wild and wooly ride!

Wishing you the best there Alaska...I think it'll be an interesting election season all across the country.
Hello John... yes it is going to be active and energetic all over the nation... maybe a lot of people will get out and vote instead of lettig a few make the decision! Thanks!
Congratulations this post is now featured in the Silent Majority Group of Active Rain.
Lisa is saying to the people who voted her out that they are not to be counted - another politician not representing the people but her own self interests and her refusal to acknowledge that her power is over - she knows she will never be elected in a write in vote - but so goes the party
thank you for the feature... and I appreciate your thoughts on our election... there are things coming out about Joe Miller that have made the people beg Lisa to do the write in campaign... if he is not what he appears and there has been no vetting of him and we get another person in DC that is not what he says he is.... well.... I dont know the answers but I do know that Lisa conceded the race and then was persuaded to run this write in vote... and there is some thought she might very well win the write in vote.. I guess we will just have to see... the law says here the intent is the name on the ballot not the spelling whichi is good because she has a hard name to spell...
