Bay Realty Blog: All tsunami warnings canceled….. lets enjoy the calm waters

All tsunami warnings canceled….. lets enjoy the calm waters

There is some talk of over zealous warnings of possible tsunamis after the 8.8 on the Richter scale Earthquake in Chile.....

My mother was a Girl Scout leader...four daughters...

Her motto was always be prepared for anything

I don't think we should mock the scientists for making sure all the bases were covered..

The truth is it could have gone a lot worse... and no warning would be negligent....

I for one am glad we all escaped any damage from a tsunami this week....

And I say we should all be prepared for any natural disaster that may come our way...

Until then let's enjoy the calm waters of the ocean as the sun sets

All tsunami warnings canceled….. lets enjoy the calm waters

Debra,

It's hard for me to comprehend that the Chile earthquake was 800 times more powerful than what hit Haiti.  Of course they should have issued a warning, and I'm glad to know you're safe.

There was a lot of concern over the possible Tsunami.  I'm glad the warning has passed.

Thankfully the Tsunami did not take place and all the people are safe.  Your mother was right in being prepared for anything. You just never know.

Your picture is beautiful!

I too was hopeful the warning was just that - a warning.  I thought about all of our AR friends in Hawaii and if they'd be affected.  Thank Goodness all is well there, at least.

Yes we are all very happy and lucky the tsunami did not devlope into further destruction... the earthquake was enough... Now we hope the people of Chile can be safe and rebuild... thanks to you all for stopping by my site!

When there's not too much scientific data to go on, overzealous warnings are good. Now that they have a ton of data from this earthquake and tsunami, future warnings should be better.
