There must be moose in the Valley...

I was just saying this yesterday and looked out there and as if on cue here were these two!
I just got this new camera with a zoom lens so I thought I would try a shot or two and see if the zoom is all that...

I need to play with this a bit.... Seems not as sharp as my other camera...
but the zoom is making the moose look a little closer! All Suggestions Welcome!

Debra, your photos are just beautiful! Looks like something out of Northern Exposure!
Debra,
No great suggestions here but very cool pics! I think I'd be quite comfortable with the distance and just wait for a better angle.
hello Pat... good to hear from you! thanks so much...
Sara they eat and eat then move off pretty fast and tak absolutly no direction in posing!
Thanks for stopping by
Debra, I do not have a zoom lens yet, so I can't help. All I can tell you is that your photos are pretty cool! You just need to train them to pose for you, LOL. I have never seen a live moose, I would love to, they are very cool, thank you!
Debra,
Where does that saying come from? and what does it mean? "There must be a moose in the valley". I googled it to find out and I got this blog #1
Debra,
I could not help but get a chuckle from Paul's comment.
With regards to comment #3 and yoru reply to Sara, it makes sense because they moose eat! Lol
Congrats on getting a new camera! It looks like there will be a learning curve like all things that come with a new camera or a new technology. But, once you overcome it, I am sure we are going to see even more beautiful photos of moose from Alaska! :)
My only suggestion is to see if you can find the distant scenery setting on your camera and try it with this setting in addition to the zoom the next time you see moose in the valley.
Thank you for another lovely Moose Monday post!
Debra, when using a zoom you might also try using a tripod.
Paul its Peace in the Valley! You are funny ...did it really come up #1?
ANdrea you just need to come on up you will see them everywhere!
Nick that is a good idea because the zoom seems to exaggerate every movement
Hey Gerry, you know how they are eat eat amd more eat... thanks for the suggestion I will try and find such settings on this camera... I love my canon rebel... but this canon and i have not bonded yet... I will look for the itmes you mentioned Thanks!
