Let Sleeping Moose Lay... Anchor Point Alaska

Let Sleeping Moose Lay...

I noticed something in the yard this morning.... the sun wasn't quite up yet...but there was no mistaking those big Creatures curled up snoozing in the yard... It was too dark to get a picture and I didn't want to wake them up either.... Everyone needs a little rest.....

Let Sleeping Moose Lay...

I waited patiently till the sun was finally up enough to give us a little light... the mother was stirring and she knew I was there and watching... so I took the picture thru the door so I wouldn't disturb them...

not a great picture.... But I was being considerate...

 Let Sleeping Moose Lay...

I was being patient and waiting... hoping to get that perfect shot... but the mom got up, the baby got up and before I could open the door they were off... they may be giant animals but they are fast...

 Let Sleeping Moose Lay...

If you look real close you can see they went into the brush and one of them is eating ...You can see the head and ears...

Terrific photos -- even though a bit grainy -- those guys are magnificent creatures.

Grainy or not... I'll bet you're the only person on the continent that could have gotten a shot like that today.  You live in a very unique part of the world.  Thanks for sharing it with us :)

Truly magestic creatures.  I've always wanted to see one with my own eyes.  Maybe some day I will.

Debra,

I agree with the fact that these giant animals can run fast.  You sure were very considerate towards these moose.  Nice photos!
