Bay Realty Blog: Moose on West Hill Homer Alaska

Moose on West Hill Homer Alaska

Here is shot of a Moose up West Hill...in Homer Alaska.

They pretty much roam where they want to roam... this guy was munching his lunch at the side of the road.... It looks healthy and sleek and happy!  Look at those Velvet Horns!

Male Moose range from 1200 to 1600 pounds in Alaska...

Debra:  So... is it true that if this guy goes just a bit further up the hill... he can see Sarah Palin's house ?  If so, he'd better duck !  LOL.

These fellows do tend to go where they want, when they want.  But, they sure are fun to watch!

Debra,

Wow!  That is quite a moose that Ken Bergman captured in this photo.  I love the antlers on this one!  Thank you for posting this photo (now featured) in the Moose Monday group!

I've never seen a moose this close up before.  I can't imagine seeing them on the side of the road like that!  It is a beautiful animal!

Hello Michael, Gerry and Sharon... I thik we all agree moose are pretty special... I am still not used to seeing them standing in the yard or the street or coming up on the highway!

Thanks Gerry for featuring this post in your wonderful Moose Group... that is indeed an honor!

Hello Debra, I like the shot that Ken took.  How close was he? (and was Ken on foot or in the vehicle?)  Thanks!  John
