Hey Baby it cold outside.... A Winter Poem....

This is a weird weather year isn't it? I have had more than one person call from Minnesota to discuss moving to Homer Alaska because our weather is so mild compared to theirs.... I tell them this may not be the long term outcome but some are just fed up with the cold... many ask...where is global warming again? I know we are not supposed to question global warming but it is a little harder to accept when people in the lower 48 are freezing along with us up here in Alaska!

 New Years Eve 2008 Alaska

I have been sent this poem via email from several people located in several states including Kansas and Minnesota...

I will use the Minnesota one as the primary poem.

The Kansas folks had changed theirs just a bit...so this one is cleaner.....

Winter Poem

It's winter in Minnesota
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At thirty-five below.

Oh, how I love Minnesota
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut..

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Minnesota
I'm frozen to the ground!
