Have you heard this news??? Are you having a Garage Sale this weekend?? You might want to read this first.....
They passed a law to stop the manufacture and sell of products with lead in them... As of this February....If you sell a magic bake oven at your garage sale for 5 bucks... you may get fined for $100,000.
Thrift shops and Goodwill's are now a target for prosecution just for selling baby bibs, cribs, bibs, blankets, books, hoodies with draw strings and bicycles or tricycles.... don't take my word for this read this article.

read this great comment....
(8) Mary says:
I work at a Thrift Store and see all the people who depend on us to cloth their children. With the economy like it is this law would really put some of these people in a pinch when it comes to clothing their children. I would be one of the first to agree that we want our children to be safe but believe there is a limit to government interference. The biggest percent of children's clothes that we sell are almost like new. So what would we do with them if we could not sell them, haul them to the dump and contaminate the ground and whatever else.

Congress had good intentions when they passed a law about lead in children's toys and materials... they really did ... but look at the results of not researching the long term ramifications of the bill, the regulations and now the enforcement of their hurried actions.... Do you think they thought this whole thing through?
My mother always told me the road to hell is paved with good intentions... I would hope Congress would quit paving the 12 lane freeway and start thinking about their actions and how they affect our everyday lives. They are elected to make laws thoughtfully with due diligence and plan our futures with care and respect... we deserve that and we need that. We need them to do the right thing... And if they don't... then they should be held accountable.
